GREETINGS FROM MAINE is part electronic love letter, part ambient serenata, connecting the forests of Minnesota and Maine. Text by Rachel Jendrzejewski and music by are you ready to be destroyed (Christina Collins) unfold in dialogue with UNANCHORED, a summer 2017 exhibition at Silverwood Park Gallery in St. Anthony, Minnesota, featuring visual works by Sarah Kusa and Chad Rutter.
Throughout the original performance - during which the text was projected and the music was performed live at Silverwood Gallery - an additional layer of text and imagery from Rachel and others at a simultaneous gathering in Maine appeared on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram under the hashtag #GreetingsfM. Minnesota audiences [and people everywhere really] were invited to use the same hashtag to respond and share their own experiences while listening, looking, reading, writing, resting, and wandering as much as they wished.
This video is a record of that text and music, as well as the ekphrastic responses the audience/participants in Minnesota sent to Maine.
