Springback Academy Graduate writer Nika Arhar meets choreographer Kristin Ryg Helgebostad & composer Laura Marie Rueslåtten to talk about their Spring Forward 2017 selected work: Me Too
On Me Too: A quartet of stomping, full-voiced Norwegian women conjure fantastical and ever-shifting images in Me Too. Handbells and movement melt together. Colour, energy and singing/dancing sculptures emerge from a glistening backdrop. You might recognise some music — but your head will spin if you try to figure out exactly what is what in their world.
Springback Academy offers a unique chance for emerging dance writers to be mentored by professional critics during an international festival. It takes place during Aerowaves Spring Forward in a different city each year. Springback Academy experiments with forms of dance writing and adds an assured quality of debate to dance criticism online. 'Meet the Makers' series is a chance for the Springback Academy graduates to flex their interview skills in short one to one conversations with Aerowaves Twenty 17 selected artists.
