Hi, my name is Aaron Rubinstein, I work for Anadarko Petroleum. Anadarko is a upstream and mid-stream, energy company in the oil and gas industry. I lead our process and technology team within the supply chain organization.
We'd always been interested in eSourcing technology. Sourcing had been a manual process for us for years. We just didn't feel like there was anyone really executing that well in the, the sourcing technology space.
So when we came across Scout, it was really a breath of fresh air for us. We found a product that delivered the right depth of functionality, but in a platform, that was lightweight, intuitive, and easy to use. It was something Anadarko deployed quickly to our teams.
There were some tangible benefits we realized almost immediately, particularly among users that were doing a high volume of sourcing. We have one team that is doing infrastructure development projects for us. Building out complex pipeline systems and processing plants. There is a ton of materials, equipment and services that need to be sourced for those efforts.
Within two months of deploying Scout to this small group, they were able to run over 90 RFPs through the platform and leverage all the benefits of templates, duplicating path events, streamlining communications to the messaging center, increased transparency among their stakeholders, with suppliers, or just bidding those events. It was really an immediate benefit to the group.
There's a lot of things we love about Scout. I think first and foremost it's a tool that delivers powerful functionality in a platform that's lightweight and intuitive, and that's a combination that you don't often find in a lot of enterprise software these days.
It supports a really flexible workflow which is key to us. We've got a pretty broad base of operations that spans onshore, offshore, international, upstream, mid-stream, a lot of different aspects of the energy industry. All of those have unique requirements, unique processes and that all varies based on market conditions as well.
So, a tool that we can deploy to each of those teams, that they can then adapt to the needs of how they want to conduct their sourcing events - that's not just one rigid kind of process model that you must follow. That's been huge for us. Because of this we have seen more adoption faster than we would have otherwise. And the low overhead to run the tool, the ease at which you can deploy, train users, and support users on an ongoing basis.
