“What’s in front of you with your health is your life saying ‘this is a lesson you need to learn.’”

When recently retired MD Anderson nurse Sherry (who “got paid for torturing children”), was diagnosed with breast cancer, her first reaction was “there’s no big C word, I’m not going to faint.” In fact, she took it lightly and positively, feeling sorry for her “poor body.” Yet, she also took a lot from the experience – learning how to meditate, improving on the treadmill and learning more about herself.

In this video, she talks with her friend and her “spiritual sister,” Morgan about cancer treatments, her husband, family and her experience as both a caregiver and patient. Sherry believes “having cancer is the best thing that happened in my life” and vouches “I would not go back and erase my cancer diagnosis.”
