Superenhanced V3E1 - Detainees
Psychotic events and practices happen unnoticed and slowly over time, to fully accept them we need to acclimatize and familiarize ourselves with it. Mixing Supermax brightness with blacksite darkness, a unique mix of physical pain with digital interrogation software. We do not emulate reality – our world is staged, superficial and glamourous, but still the user can experience the ubiquitous perversion and go into a supervised shock. We deny the concept of torture as self defense, but we accept it as part of rock culture.
The Video uses photos of 209 Detainees. All photos were retrieved via Google Image Search. Soundtrack: Barney Theme Song" (TV series). This and many other songs were repeatedly used to torture detainees in blacksites and U.S. military prisons and Supermax facilities (Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay, Bagram, Kandahar, etc).
This video was initially released as part of the "Superenhanced Military Tribunal Installation" at Golden Thread Gallery Belfast (ISEA 09).
