First love has never looked as beautiful as it does in Call Me by Your Name, an adaptation of André Aciman’s novel by the same name, the film everyone talked about at the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlinale earlier this year. We are very proud to present the Scandinavian premier of this riveting coming-of-age romance as the opening film of Oslo/Fusion 2017. A film hailed by critics across the world as simply being a true masterpiece guaranteed to be one of the main Oscar contenders of the year.
It is a hot summer on the Italian countryside in 1983. Elio (Chalamet) is 17 years old, and lives with hisfamily in a breath-taking villa. His day to day life is spent learning about art, reading, swimming, and partying. Everything changes when 24-year-old Oliver (Hammer) arrives to live with the family. Oliver is charming, and is, like Elio, attractive, young and fascinatingly self-confident. The two of them are more and more drawn to each other over the course of the summer, and we are drawn into a dazzling love story in the beautiful surroundings.
