This video is part of a choreography/dance conversation/collaboration with Sarah Dahnke of New York.
Poet and interdisciplinary artist, Natasha Marin, is a Caribbean-Canadian ex-patriot. As a post-colonial product, Marin comes to art-making from the periphery—she is an “Outside Artist” and her personal aesthetic emerges from the syncretism of Afro- and Asiatic cultures. Her written work has been published extensively and translated into several languages. Currently, she is combining translations of her poetry in Japanese and American Sign Language with traditional butoh dance choreography to create original video-poems.
