A part of VR composition premiered at Cyberfest 97 hosted by Roger Ebert. The scene demonstrates the particle dynamics in a bounded box (visualization) and the data driven sound (a.k.a. sonification). The 3D "wand" communicates with the parametric model of the particle system changing forces, viscosity, etc. the six different parameters. This was possible by projecting high dimensional control space down to 3 dimensional control space through the interface known as "manifold Interface". Credit goes to the collaboration in the NCSA Audio Development Group at UIUC, the group which produced highly experimental cutting edge works from 1993 to 2000.
