Occurring half an hour into my multimedia advocacy concert, this section features audio testimony from Pepe Onziema, one of a few gay rights activists fighting for equality in Uganda. This clip combines projected visuals of homophobic Ugandan newspapers and tabloids with live symphonic accompaniment based on traditional Ugandan drumming rhythms.
For demo purposes, it is presented through the cropping of different angles. Please note that the concert is meant to be viewed/heard live in a style similar to a silent film, and that the cropping is used only to show the relationship between visuals and music.
Music and visuals by William D. Caballero (conductor).
