I’m Dwayne Doyle, administrative director for Illinois Baptist Disaster Relief. Our Disaster Relief Teams are being called out to respond to the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey.
This hurricane has flooded most of coastal Texas and tens of thousands are homeless. Illinois Baptist Disaster Relief has been asked to send mobile kitchens and childcare teams now, and flood recovery teams when the waters recede.
We need your help to make this happen. In order for us to send a mobile kitchen, we need 30 trained volunteers to go and serve at its capacity of 10 to 20,000 meals per day. The kitchen will be out for a minimum of two weeks. We also need a van to take our childcare team and childcare trailer to Texas. Call (217) 391-3134 if you can help.
If you aren’t a trained a volunteer but want to be, check our website, IBSA.org/DR, for training dates.
Finally, will you prayerfully consider giving to Illinois Baptist Disaster Relief efforts to help those impacted by Hurricane Harvey? It will cost a minimum of $1,000 per team to transport equipment to disaster recovery locations. You can help by giving through Illinois Baptist Disaster Relief at IBSA.org/DR.
Thank you and pray for the victims of Hurricane Harvey and the volunteers ministering to them.
