Yard welcomes a new era of open air clubbing in Bristol. A collaboration between some of the city's most established dance music institutions, Yard will bring Motion's outdoor spaces to life. In addition to showcasing some of the most respected underground names in house and techno, alongside genuinely iconic ones, Yard will also feature a new and exciting light installation, presenting Monolithic.
Monolithic is a collaboration between curator Ben Price and the world renowned Squidsoup, a new light installation consisting of 5,376 suspended LEDs configured into a cubic monolith will run for the duration of Yard on Saturday 26th August.
The installation was situated in the warehouse, which during the day events is a passage way between either outdoor space, this will provide people with the opportunity to be absorbed by the installation, even if subconsciously. Each artists programmed an hour of ambient music which will then be pre-programmed into the installation by Squidsoup. It is an opportunity for the public to enter the installation and observe the piece of art with the music accompanied to it.
Offering people the opportunity for a break from the house and techno on the day, artists showcasing another side of their music knowledge through the ambient sets will include Lost Souls Of Saturn, Daniel Avery, Axel Boman, Midland, Tobias, Octo Octa and Housework.
