Tens of thousands of eco-conscious music fans and their umbrellas ventured to Merriweather Post Pavilion yesterday for the second-annual Sweetlife Festival. What started last year as a LivingSocial-sponsored shindig with a few hundred people in a parking lot has blossomed into one of the East Coast's premier music festivals, drawing such acts as The Strokes, Lupe Fiasco, and Girl Talk. Among the performers was U.S. Royalty, a DC-based band that's currently on tour with Third Eye Blind. We caught up with the group inside a decked-out Gibson guitar bus after their set to hear an exclusive acoustic performance of Monte Carlo from their debut full-length album, Mirrors.
