Nothing scientific...just wanted to see a comparison of some popular Picture Profile settings for DSLR, including Marvels Cine, SuperFlat and the new Technicolor Cinestyle.
I also included a clip of the Cinestyle footage with the Technicolor LUT applied. This essentially just adds a standard S-Curve to the image. (was able to duplicate exactly with S-Curve in Magic Bullet Looks as well as with basic CC tool).
Personally LOVE the cinestyle profile. It has a pretty incredible range of latitude. I was able to push the image so many different ways in post without losing much, if any detail. The image comes out so incredible flat, which gives you a plethora of options in post. You also don't get that salmon-like color that's seen in the mids for most flat picture profiles out there.
