My idea for a cool Hollywood film, this began as a graphic novel, but has morphed into a video, mostly of still images from that graphic novel strung together, interspersed with short animations, and with music throughout. Very early on, I decided that there'd be no narrative text whatsoever, just pictures and dialogue. Although this is in color, my biggest influences were B&W TV shows "The Twilight Zone" and "The Outer Limits" from the early 1960's. I may upload a grainy B&W copy of this as an homage to those shows. I intend to approach film producers and/or agents who represent artists to them with this. Also, I'll be narrating an audio book from the script I used. Unlike.... (ahem...) "another popular video sharing site," here on Vimeo it is possible to replace a video, yet keep it's url, so what you're seeing here may still be a work in progress if I make changes in the audio, which contains over 150 songs and sound effects, all of which I have the right to use either because they were in the public domain, available under a Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution License, or because I've bought the rights. I initially saw this as being a Young Adult story, but have listed it as being for Mature audiences. Not that kids don't see a lot worse every day, but I'm just being careful. Actually, anybody can watch it. The Mature rating is simply advisory.
Software used: Poser 7, Videopad 4.11 and ArcSoft PhotoStudio 2.02.
Don't miss the long list of credits at the end, and stay tuned for a short video wherein I'll describe a very funny synchronicity that occurred as I was writing the script in 2012; one that forced me to re-write one detail at the end because a real person in the news went and did what my hero did and nobody would have believed I had the idea first ;)
Here's a link to a list of all the music and sound effects I used: docs.google.com/document/d/1xQR8_LUvU70cv2mrr37-leO3TKRtALRJCqh2pNhYQ14/edit?usp=sharing
