I produced this as a capstone to my degree from Ohio University's School of Media Arts and Studies.
For the past five years, I have lived in this amazing community called Athens, where many people are connected through food. What started with tasty meals from Casa Nueva (the aptly-described "Locavore's Solution") and fun at the Farmers' Market, turned into a way of life.
When we purchase big-ticket items like a car or a house we spend days, weeks, sometimes months agonizing, scrutinizing, and investigating. Food is at least as important, but we often sacrifice quality for convenience. Fast food grossly affects our own health, the well being of farmers, and the environment. But when we foster mindfulness for these effects, we support our bodies, our communities, and our world.
