This is the story of harvesting divers. These are men who live in small villages in remote places around the world. They dive using scuba equipment or compressed air delivered from the surface to harvest the sea for lobster, conch, and abalone among other things.
These men make incredibly risky dives, spending hours on the bottom and often pay the price with their health or their very lives. This documentary project shows divers in three locations, but together they form a composite of the problem. They can’t stay within safe diving limits and earn enough money to feed their families.
On the other hand, diving is the only option for them and the only life they know.
