This video is the first in a three part documentation of three presentations delivered at the BioCellar event held at Kent State University's Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative (CUDC) on April 26, 2011. Includes: welcoming remarks from CUDC Director Terry Schwarz and an overview of permaculture practices from Jean Loria of CW Waterworks in Cleveland.

A BioCellar is a partially deconstructed house, which retains the basement foundation and adds a new solar envelope. The repurposed basement can be put to uses like food production, composting or community saunas, leveraging the more constant temperatures found below grade.

For more information on the BioCellar, please contact the CUDC at cudc@kent.edu.
