This video is the second in a three part documentation of three presentations delivered at the BioCellar event held at Kent State University's Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative (CUDC) on April 26, 2011. Includes: presentation on the BioShelter built at Three Sisters Farm in Pennsylvania by Darrell Frey the author of "BioShelter Market Garden: A Permaculture Farm".
A BioCellar is a partially deconstructed house, which retains the basement foundation and adds a new solar envelope. The repurposed basement can be put to uses like food production, composting or community saunas, leveraging the more constant temperatures found below grade.
