Session Theme: Fireside Chat: 'The Power of Art for Inclusive Development' How can art and design play a part in development? Great things happen when people with different skills come together for a common goal- to make things a little better, brighter and more hopeful than before. In this session we will go through 5 ways in which artists and designers can collaborate to add value to business, education and to public discourse.
Meet Shehzil: Shehzil Malik is a designer and illustrator with a practice based on design for social change. Her passions of design and social responsibility result in collaborative projects with a focus on societal issues like women’s rights, feminism and identity constructs. She is a Fulbright scholar with an MFA in Visual Communication Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology and is also part of the International Development Innovation Network (IDIN). She has previously taught at Beaconhouse National University, and worked as art director at Ogilvy & Mather, been part of the Arcade Creative Group at Sony Music in New York City as well served as the art director of a socially conscious startup, Uth Oye! in Lahore.
