August 2017. Folds & Porticos now in its third year following the concept of transhumance in parallel with the grand tour. One to the shieling grounds in the Scottish highlands the other a journey across europe to Venice and Rome. One a culture of subsistence and closeness to the land and animals, the other of wealth and pleasures to discover high culture and experience the sublime.
The open and loose artists walk this year incorporated music and dance. Music by Anna Olafsson and Kyle Howie and Dance Performance by Tricia Anderson. Two alternative media that aimed to enhance the artists on the walk own visual experience of the landscape. With the background awareness of different cultures, creating a multiplicity of potential meaning and interpretation.
