The glory of God is the chief mark of His presence. When He manifests Himself, it is glorious. When he moves, it is glorious. When he creates something, it is glorious. Whether He is sitting on His throne in Heaven, or the Holy Spirit is working in the earth, it brings glory. Since God created the earth and all that is therein, it is glorious. Psalmist David looked at lightning and thunder, storms of the sea, and great tornadoes as representing the glory of God. The way the streams flow from their mouth and eventually find their place in the seas, David proclaimed as glorious. In ancient Job’s final conversation with God, came this discussion:
[Portions of] Job 38:3-41 “Gird up now your loins like a man, and I will demand of you, and you declare to Me. Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Declare to Me, if you have and know understanding. Who determined the measures of the earth, if you know? Or who stretched the measuring line upon it? Upon what were the foundations of it fastened, or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together and all the sons [angels] of God shouted for joy? Do you know the first thing about death? Do you have one clue regarding death's dark mysteries? Or who shut up the sea with doors when it broke forth and issued out of the womb?-- When I made the clouds the garment of it, and thick darkness a swaddling band for it, And marked for it My appointed boundary and set bars and doors, And said, Thus far shall you come and no farther; and here shall your proud waves be stayed? Have you commanded the morning since your days began and caused the dawn to know its place? Who has prepared a channel for the torrents of rain, or a path for the thunderbolt, To cause it to rain on the uninhabited land [and] on the desert where no man lives, To satisfy the waste and desolate ground and to cause the tender grass to spring forth? Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew? Out of whose womb came the ice? The waters are congealed like stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. Can you bind the chains of [the cluster of stars called] Pleiades, or loose the cords of [the constellation] Orion? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule upon the earth? Can you send lightnings, that they may go and say to you, Here we are? Who has put wisdom in the inward parts [or in the dark clouds]? Or who can pour out the [water] bottles of the heavens?”
Oh the glory of God! Everything God has done is filled with glory. Nothing has happened by chance, and it all is a glorious reflection of the Almighty God. Interestingly, in the above to Job, he even mentions “death” and its “deep mysteries” as being a reflection of His glory. “Do you know the first thing about death? Do you have one clue regarding death's dark mysteries?” Even when He created death as a punishment for sin, nothing was left to chance. As we recently taught, the “Law of Sin & Death” was created with great design and purpose, and contrary to what it appears, is never left merely to chance.
So do you think He is going to leave to chance this last great episode of time during which He plans His final harvest of the Kingdom of God in the earth? Do you think He is going to leave it to man’s leadership in the Church this great climax of time?
I tell you that you have never seen anything like what is taking place in the earth today. God is pouring out all of His goodness on the final generation of the believers. ALL OF HIS GOODNESS! We won’t just see something “else” God is going to do, added on to all of biblical history. We will see EVERYTHING poured out of God’s storehouse of blessings.
It is called in Isaiah 61, “A vengeance to comfort… beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for morning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. NO MORE BURDENS! No more heavy loads to bear. Joy and gladness will break forth upon the body of Christ and we will sing and shout for joy to see all that God is about to do.
In this great manifestation of God’s glory, nothing evil can remain. The glory of God was upon the Israel when they were crossing the wilderness, manifested by a “cloud by day and a fire by night,” and not even the threads in the material of their clothing could wear. The glory rejuvenated their clothes and shoes so that they remained new. Sickness and disease could not find a seat in their physical bodies, and there was not even one feeble person among their tribes in the wilderness.
In Isaiah 60, when the prophet spoke, “Darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people, but Jehovah shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen upon you,” He was giving advance notice to the Church that this would be the greatest outpouring of all of His goodness in one great burst of glory. It would touch everything in our lives from our health to our finances to our families reunited spiritually.
