It's 1946, and two star-crossed lovers run afoul of her mobster boyfriend, his shady past, and a cop with a secret.
This 40-second trailer is for "Web of Lies", a short film noir written by Kathryn Gould and directed by Kathryn Gould and Nelson Goforth. We've been through a number of festivals and will shortly (this is 2012-11-29) be releasing the film here on Vimeo.
Why a trailer for a 10-minute film? Just one more challenge: can I do it without giving away the whole story? How'd I do?
Web of Lies was selected for the 2011 Starz Denver Film Festival, and has appeared at festivals around the US.
The film was shot on Rocky Mountain 4K's Red MX camera and finished in glowing black & white. Our goal was to keep it close to the real noir look and feel.
Web of Lies has shown at festivals around the country. At VisionFest 12 we were nominated for six awards, including cinematography and the overall prize. We won the prize for best short-form screenplay (Kathryn Gould).
