Since 1976, Planned Parenthood has received nearly seventy five percent of their funding from the Title X Family Planning Program, the only federal grant program dedicated exclusively to family planning and related preventive health services.
In highly contested congressional talks this spring, whether to cut funding of Planned Parenthood was the issue that delayed passage of the federal budget for weeks. Many believe the stalemate may be the beginning of a continuing fight for women’s and families health rights. Whitney Pennington reports on the struggle that still may lie ahead.
