NCEE's Center on International Education Benchmarking hosted the second part of its teacher quality webinar series based on the landmark international comparative study, Empowered Educators.
This webinar, held on September 20, 2017 from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. ET, focused on how high-performing countries use professional learning, mentoring and induction to develop high-quality teachers. Linda Darling-Hammond, the study’s lead researcher and the moderator for the webinar, gave introductory remarks followed by short presentations by two members of the Empowered Educators research team: Ann McIntyre, experienced Australian principal, superintendent and state policy leader and Misty Sato, associate professor of Teacher Development and Science Education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Both researchers will spoke on the subject from the perspective of their regions of study, Australia and Shanghai respectively.
Also joining the panel were Joshua Starr, CEO of PDK International and Roger King, President and CEO of the Center for the Collaborative Classroom.
