Once a year on World Tai Chi and Qigong Day, Peaceable Dragon and Meadowlark Botanical Gardens partner to present demonstrations of Tai Chi, Qigong and Yoga. There is a healing garden to wander through, and there are mini-classes taught by some of Northern Virginia's leading instructors from a variety of schools. World Tai Chi and Qigong Day is celebrated annually in over 60 nations and is recognized by the United Nations World Health Organization.
Peaceable Dragon is a community of instructors and students of Qigong, Tai Chi, Yoga, Aikido, Reiki and other internal arts intended to improve physical, mental and spiritual health. (peaceabledragon.org)
In this video, Brian Wallich, instructor of Peaceable Dragon's Tai Chi Swords and his students demonstrate a long sword sequence of 42 movements.
"The Brain on Om," a brainwave music track was created by Paras Kaul, who using her alpha and theta brainwaves created this brainwave music composition to accompany the sword sequence on this video which she produced. Kaul speculates that during Tai Chi practices where participants are moving in harmony with each other, their brainwaves entrain and eventually signal in predominantly alpha and beta frequencies. brainwavespaces.com
