Barbara Odanaka started skateboarding during the birth of the sport, when she was 10, but stopped when her high school track coach forbade it. Twenty-five years later, she recaptures the passion of her youth -- and even makes skateboarding a protagonist in her career as a children's author (Skateboard Cow!!) Today, Barb ("Skateboard Mom") is much more than a rad 50-something skateboarder. She's inspiring other women -- The Sisters of Shred -- to conquer their fears and have a good time, all while ripping it up at the local skate park.
