Topics include selecting a discount rate, escalation rates for energy, presenting results, sensitivity analysis and analysing uncertainty/risk. The presentation includes both UK and US LCC approaches and focuses on energy-saving projects and retrofits concerning building services engineers.
Speakers: Scott West and Tony Willis
Scott West is a registered professional engineer working in Fort Worth, Texas. Scott has a Master of Business Administration with a finance emphasis and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. His focus is on low energy and sustainable building design. Scott has experience in energy modeling and holds a Building Energy Modeling Professional certification from ASHRAE. Scott is project manager for the Jacobs energy auditing program for the state of Texas. He stresses actual, verified energy savings in his consulting work. Scott worked for Jacobs in the UK for two years and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
Tony Willis has worked in the HVAC industry for more than 30 years, with direct experience in the energy engineering sector from a practical hands on commissioning to product developments. With strong ties to combustion engineering and management systems for boiler and combustion efficiency, his career has led to developing new OEM customers, and overseas markets, including the Queens Award for Exports. Tony has also represented the UK on Technical Group committees for CEN and BSI for electronic controls for the boiler/combustion industries.
