From Esquel to Nahuel Pan in the Old Patagonian Express
After the 600km that brought us from the Atlantic to the Andinian mountains, another special move was waiting for me in Esquel. To travel in the mythic Patagonian Express (La Trochita, 75 cm width between tracks) that use to move within Esquel and El Maiten (Chubut Province), and a bit later until Inginiero Jacobacci in Rio Negro. 400 km of railroad, along the foothills of the Andes, in a steam locomotive that took around 24 hours to do. Stepping on Board just transport you to the great adventures of the conquer of American west with the Iron Horse and the lost stations in the middle of nowhere, openening far horizons.
After o good night sleep, i picked up my camera, and walked along with Sergio Correia to Esquel railway station to dive in an adventurer past that made me feel inside those fantastic movies of the old west of my childhood playground, such as that fantastic "Once upon the time in the west". From the times i was a just a fearless cowboy until, guided by Buffalo Bill and my father, i felt in love with indians and their culture well balanced with nature. Sitting Bull, Geronimo, Cochise among so many others feed my nomad soul since then.
With no more words, i invite you to travel with me & Sergio Correia, and with Ennio Morricone (The Man with Harmonica) and Las Cuerdas de Oro (El Condor Pasa), in a fantastic adventure towards the end of the world. Enjoy it with your own imagination
