A short teaser for an interactive message of truth, about paradise on earth.
Before starting this project, we didn’t know Fraser Island’s past. Of course, we are fully aware white Australia has a black history, which we need to recognise, understand and discuss (a lot more than we currently do). But we didn’t know this island’s specific story. That’s why it was an absolute blessing to work with Tori-Jay Mordey to animate her incredible artwork, and help set the record straight. Breeder worked closely with Mordey to illustrate, iterate and deliver her beautiful work – and we can’t thank her and the SBS team enough for inviting us to help articulate this piece of history. If you have a spare ten minutes and some headphones, sit back and hear prolific indigenous artist Fiona Foley and stateswoman Larissa Behrendt peel back the lies and tell you the story of K’Gari.
