Vengeance in Reverse is the perfect continuation of Mark Anspach’s earlier book in French, À Charge de Revanche. Both books explore the underlying principles of gift exchange and reciprocity in the light of René Girard’s pioneering work on mimetic violence. What is striking is the logic and clarity of the writing: each paragraph, each sentence, is thought out and expressed with the utmost rigour and elegance. An excellent book, a future classic!
