The Mandala was built in preparation for the arrival of the Dalai Lama on the UA campus, and during the closing ceremony, it was destroyed to show impermanence. Some of the sand was kept by the monks for their own rituals and uses, while some of the sand was distributed into a local stream, and the rest of it was given out to the people in attendance.
I apologize for the video quality and what you're able to see, but the whole point of me recording was to capture the monk's singing. From where I was standing, I knew I couldn't see much, but once they started singing, I knew I had to get my phone out. Which means I missed the first minute or two of the ceremony.
(I also didn't realize that 20 minutes later, I would still have my hand propped up.)
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
