Amidst ephemera of the modern age, Taraka and Nimai Larsen anoint the cathedral of junk with celestial rhythms. Melissa Huser cuts joyful lines before the throne of metal and stirs the rage of neighboring dogs aware that their down season of rest is quickly coming to an end.
Articles of discarded culture reveal new faces when struck, scraped, rattled and swung by the explorations of the pair. Stripped bare of the synthetic orchestrations of Taraka's keyboards and the many-armed melodies of their vocal echo chambers, their song becomes a minimal backbone of the objects of the cathedral.
When we finally stop, the marathon has left us contemplative. We have become more comfortable friends, a wordless community called forth from the pile.
