Recent polls in California indicate that a majority of adults (as many as 90% in many communities*) want to see their children get an arts education. In addition, studies show how exposure to the arts contributes to a child’s social and academic success.
With that in mind, imagine thousands of kids experiencing the wonder of live theatre for the first time. That’s the dream behind B Street. It’s also a big part of the B Street ongoing mission: to provide a one-of-a-kind, educational, performing arts program that reaches over 200,000 students annually.
Today, B Street is taking its mission to the next stage with plans to build a new, 40,000 square-foot, two-theatre complex at the corner of 27th and Capitol in Midtown. The new venue will triple the number of children B Street currently serves—enriching the culture of Sacramento in the process.
