Here's a personal anim I've been working on for way, waaaaay too long now. I've been chipping away at it during my free time for quite a while, but I think it's ready to be posted! There are still things that I'd like to polish and fix up, but with my free time and energy waning these days, I'm gonna call it done (more or less). Hope y'all dig it!
Eyoo! I've been getting some messages asking the same questions from peeps about the animation, so I'll try to answer here for everyone.
The smears you see are all just geo! They're elongated spheres with bend deformers, pretty simple. Though quick and easy to make and use, I wouldn't recommend doing this in a professional workplace... Unless they supported this kinda thing in the pipeline? And it was part of the art direction?
Same for all the impact fx. All that stuff is just geo made in maya and animated to give it a 2d look. Ghetto hack fx! I'm just a lowly animator, I don't know how to make actual fx, so I do what I can.
The rubble and hair are just animated! No sim or dynamics involved.
