This documentary is about profiling environmental degradation in India due to various factors. There is a correlation between what is happening now and what has happened to many societies which have collapsed in the past in various parts the world.
Society at large is responsible and if something isn't done soon, we could be heading towards tragedy not too far in the future.
Alandya is the name of the mountain (dongar in Marathi) which has been literally shaved of it's forests mainly because of the flawed forest policies of the Indian government.
The government has now passed a law for handing over these forests back to the original owners, the tribal village people who looked after and protected these forests for a long time in return for their right to minor forest produce.
