This clip shows the replacement animation in action. Each frame was set up this way, by replacing various components with the next progressive frame. The Camera was controlled directly from laptop, and what you're seeing here is the laptop screen which is toggling between the previous frame and what the camera is seeing now.

Before I started the stop frame animation I completely made the film in Adobe After Effects. Each component was given a unique number and when I rebuilt the animation in the stop frame world I just followed the dope sheet which listed which numbered components went on which frame.
