Nowadays, Noise pollution is one of the most widespread phenomena amongst con- temporary forms of contamination.
Contemporary man constantly undergoes an auditory sollititation due to those mecha- nic, electronic and electromagnetic sounds in which urban and industrial zones are em- bedded.
This results in an interior break, a permanent crack inside human beings that develops in every direction, which, on the counterpart, is usually filled by useless and unproductive information; in the long term, all of this may lead to physical and mental phatologies.
Phsyco- auditory and eco- auditory theorists and researchers, facing the risk of a mas- sive spread of these kind of pathologies, are developing and testing different methods to contrast with. They are founded on vibrational principles (bioresounance and bioenerge- tic theories) which enable the possibility of an ethic healing brought about by a naturali- stic and existential intelligence, never resulting in any kind of forced alteration.
According to this point of view, the focus of the healing process is on human being con- sciuosness and sensitivity, which through sound treatments, can be coherently moulded with body awareness and relationship attitude; this aims to reach an enegetic balance in an holistic consideration on individuals.
The purpose is to recreate a meditative listening capability so as to stimulate a psyhi- cophysical regeneration of ourselves, by means, for instance, of the power kept in the stream of water, an
element that ever since ancient times is considered to have cathartic and therapeutic ef- fects, providing that vital break represented by silence. Therefore, if everything, even our body, is composed of a vibrating substance, then, “repairing” substance malfunctionings should be doable by means of vibrations themselves.
The project aims to undertake a self-healing process through sympathetic resonan- ce through means of water sound and random drop sussession. By making the water drop on a metallic strongly reverberating element ( a rounded steel platform with about 1200mm of diameter, for example), it will be possible to generate rhythmic figures and sound bands. At the same time and in real time, the resulting pulses will be recorded by an electronic device and stored and analysed by a self- producted software, which, through granulation and armonization processes in fft, will recreate an electroacoustic environment.
