Since 2008 WorkCycles has been quietly building an ingenious little feature into our bikes. It's called the "Escape Hatch" and enables you to remove the rear tire and/or inner tube while leaving the enclosed drivetrain entirely intact. On a bike with full chain case and internal hub gearing this saves considerable time and avoids damage at the hands of inexperienced (or just disinterested) mechanics.
The principle is simple: A small portion of the left rear triangle can be removed. It still requires the removal of several screws but no adjustment is required during reassembly.
