Being a combat medic in eastern Afghanistan isn't easy. It's even tougher being pinned down by Taliban automatic fire during an eight-hour firefight.
This is just one part of one day for U.S. Army Spc. Brit 'Doc' B. Jacobs from Sarasota, Fla., assigned to Company C, 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, doing his job as a combat medic on top of a mountain overlooking the Shal Valley in eastern Afghanistan's Nuristan Province while under intense enemy fire.
