National Boston Studios produced "Mission Possible" as a major component that capped a 7 year capital campaign funding effort to raise one billion dollars for continued cancer research and patient treatment.
Budgeted in the capital drive was the construction of a state of the art research and treatment center - The Yawkey Center for Cancer Care--the cost
of the center was $150,000,000. The "center opened in February 2011 and is now part of the Dana Farber Campus in Longwood area.
The video was to thank the major donors (people who donated over 1 million dollars), and an event was held in late April (the video was shown) to show donors where their money has gone and to inspire them to keep pledging.
The end sequence of the video was inspired by a hall in the new Yawkey Center which appears like cells back lit with multi-colored lights where donors can buy a "cell" and have their name on it.
The video will also be used to establish institutional pledging from fortune 100 companies and will also be used for continued private philanthropy.
