This short video captures our meeting with mixed-media painter Lucida Granados at her home in Munich Germany. She discusses her great inspirations, particularly how spending her childhood in Africa informed her work. We see a selection of her paintings, characterized by bold black brush strokes, hand-drawn typography and bright contrasting colors on stark backgrounds. Art for her, she says, is her place to breathe, somewhere she can truly be herself. We were even privileged enough to take a peek into her sketch book, where melancholy Rhinos peer out from the dark. It’s all quite striking – and we’re glad to have collaborated.
