What I was going for with this video was a riff on the comical, embarrassing elements of our homeless Max character alongside the serious message behind the song. Both playful and hard hitting. I wanted it to look both raw and gritty and yet have a cinematic quality to it.
There is Max dancing, and busking on the 1 train from the Bronx down to the Battery - parts where we went back to the small apartment Max grew up in in the Bronx and the street which was named in honor of his father who died saving someones life.
It is the "Henry Rivera" street sign we drop down from - to Max on the corner on the line:
" For so he loved the world he gave his only begotten son,
In turn took my only begotten dad and I only begotten one"
