Jeanne had a career as a licensed substance abuse counselor before being laid off; her savings lasted a few months before she could not pay rent and lost her apartment. Sleeping on friends’ couches eventually led to her needing to move on and Jeanne became homeless this past July. With our help she is determined to keep moving forward. 7 years ago, Fran and her husband lost their home to a fire in their apartment building; several months later her husband died, and Fran became homeless – with no children - WLP became her family, where she finds community, makes friends and enjoys art; sadly, Fran still spends every night in a city shelter.
On behalf of our guests, we would like to thank the donors, sponsors, and supporters of our 2017 Spaghetti Dinner. Your generosity will lift hundreds of vulnerable women from despair, give them hope to pursue their dreams, and to keep moving forward.
If you missed the opportunity to give, please know your contribution will make a difference today and help to ensure that every woman who comes through our door is helped. womenslunchplace.org/donate
