The Strong Women Project officially launched on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at New Women Space in Williamsburg, NY. This talk is titled "I DON'T LIKE HER: The Luxury of Selective Feminism." In this talk, Darley Stewart, Founder of the Strong Women Project, discusses how to take our feminism a step further. First, the likeability-success correlation (Flynn-Anderson, 2003) can be extended to show further patterns of bias among female colleagues, in which we undermine our solidarity. Second, male feminists risk diluting their feminist allyship when they don't make unequivocally clear that their project of eradicating toxic masculinity is in service, or a subset, of the feminist project. Third, we need to understand the counterintuitive aspects of feminism in order to make any progress at all.
