Approximately 10,000 Chinese students from all over China enter campaigns to be selected to participate in The One Club of Greater China Youth Creative Workshop. 350 were accepted, as well as 17 students from Michigan State University to make the trek to Shanghai. The MSU students were split into 4 half teams. Upon arrival, the students had a week to fill the remaining spots on their teams with Chinese students and create an entire advertising campaign for Chevrolet; this year’s Workshop's client. Teams worked under the guidance of professional mentors, who help them streamline their ideas. They then had to present their campaigns to their class mentors and only the top half of the groups from each class went on to give a final presentation. 3 of the 4 Michigan State teams made it through to the finals. 2 of which won Silver Pencils.
A special thank you to Henry Brimmer for putting everything together and making this opportunity possible.
Also, thank you to Alice Merton and Macklemore for supplying the soundtrack of the trip
