Voice © poem written by Hedy Yudaw
In your world,
do you have any novel stories?
what if they were just a blank sheet of paper
How would you feel about that?
Traveling on Orchid Island alone
Without cell phone, without computer
The color of the ocean was so blue and green,
after being touched by the empty hand
Shortly the dark mood turned into a bright clear sky
But I heard, the flying fish wouldn't fly during the winter
Fly~ oh fly
imagine yourself as a giant firebird
who cares about that floating vehicle in the air
was it an alien spaceship or a F-22 Raptor
I wonder...that sparkling collision of them in space,
it must have looked more beautiful and more impressive than the Taipei 101 firework's.
Unfortunately, a giant firebird collided with them without leaving anything, not even a piece of bone
I saw there was a Pulelehua flying on your hand
Bright purple, very beautiful.
First he slowly danced,
then rhythmically to some drum beats
Have you seen him?
He said that he would take you to a place far, far, far away from your village
To find the key to happiness
The day after you left
Outside the window was a light rain.
I saw a girl about age seventeen
She held a black umbrella, trying to cross the street where I live
I had never had a chance to look at her face closely enough
Her form had already disappeared around the corner
Was that you?
I looked at the drawings covering my wall, The Hand's World.
I remembered that you wanted to see my new artwork
But now, You have closed your eyes.
This is the voice I leave for you
when you visit me, remember to take it with you
