on the 29th of May the Cape Gate MIAGI Centre for Music was opened at Morris Isaacson School in Soweto. it was the last project of Architect Monty Sack.
Arranged around an intimate inner court it has a 250 seat performance hall with a retractable stage, practice rooms and teaching studios, a music library, meeting room, admin office and instrument store and luthiers workshop.
The project was funded by the Kaplan Kushlik education Foundation and is part of a larger development including an all purpose hall for the school.
MIAGI (Music Is A Good Investment) is in the process of establishing a variety of music development programs at the centre and is forging new relationships in the community in the process.
