SJOLANDERHELPSYOU and KOKORO has made this video postcard to the Alzheimer's Society's project "Singing for the Brain".
The content of this video is KOKORO performing their song "Demise" live in a stairwell. Its shoot with an VHS camera and a DV-cam.
Questions from Martin (me) to Oli, the singer in KOKORO:
(M) IN WHICH WAY DID THE ALZHEIMER'S SOCIETY'S PROJECT "SINGING FOR THE BRAIN" INSPIRE YOU IN THIS SONG?
(O) I saw a documentary on Alzheimers on the TV with lots of interviews of couples were the husband or wife were fading away in alzhemiers.
I had such a strong emotional response to it all and it stayed with me and I incorporated it into this song. The lyrics became much darker than the feeling of the song which I liked. It gave it more depth.
(M) CAN YOU RECOMMEND A BOOK, FILM OR OTHER TO PEOPLE WHO WANTS TO EXPLORE THEIR BRAINS?
(O) Haven't read or seen anything that really comes to mind. I think it's important for people to free their brains from all the madness of this world.
A hero of mine who has written lots of books about liberating yourself is Osho. A kind of philosopher who's really well-read and pretty controversial.
He's book on Creativity is my recommendation.
(M) WHAT IS THE MOST FASCINATING WITH THE BRAIN?
(O) That we don't understand it. Well at least not 90 percent of it.

Show me you're not afraid
stripped to the bones
This broken image like threads
lies in a mess in your bed
Some day the Charon's waiting
Bit by bit I fall apart
like I was broken from the start
Bit by bit I lose control
the genes are taking over I'm thrown of the throne
Soon I won't recognize you
Slowly I fade
Sing for the brain
