During the production of Journeys we filmed and surfed coastal breaks near the fukushima nuclear reactor that do not exist anymore. Since filmmiong Claude Maki has revisited these locations and has taken photographs of what has transpired since the nuclear meltdown. these photos will be displayed on June 9th following the screening.
On Friday the 10th we will be having a panel discussion to raise awareness about the impact of the Earthquake and tsunami that hit northern Japan on March 11 2011. We will discuss how local coastal communities such as the one here in San Sebastian Spain can contribute and help as they have much in common with their Japanese counterparts.
