A broken woman must face her darkest fears in the most unlikely place, the OM+ME yoga studio.
The the healing power of becoming conscious and aware is explored through the body and breathe in the film, OM+ME. Tess, a trendy and emotionally lost young woman with body image issues, decides she must try something new and attend a class at the OM+ME yoga studio. The bubbly and friendly yoga teacher, Peyonya, welcomes Tess. Once mediation begins, Tess is overwhelmed and asks “What is om?” Her question is answered by a series of students who share what om is: Mel, a sassy business women who gets in her own way, Oscar and Darnelle, a bi-racial married couple, who can’t pregnant, and finally Hannah a single mother who can’t do it all. The student’s honesty help Tess confront her ultimate pain of unconditional self-acceptance. Peyonya leads the class to place their hand on their heart and breathe; pause and get present. The OM+ME song and dance erupt in the studio, with all students reveling in the power of being present, “Accept the moment you are in and baby you win!”
